Woodwork and Metal Refinishing with Environmentally Friendly Products
In past years, strong odors from finishing materials have caused some concerns voiced by customers and tenants. OFS now use low odor finishes and ventilation practices to reduce complaints from those who have chemical “sensitivities”.
In recent years, OFS has made in-roads towards going green by redoubling our efforts in the areas of “in-house” safety and compliance programs.
In fact, we have many years of experience adhering to safety regulations and inspection.
We have stepped up our recycling and disposal practices and we’ve researched ways to further improve the handling of our waste streams.
As a shining example of these efforts, we recently refinished and re-grained the brass, polished/mirrored elevators at the Goodwin Building and refinished it with a new satin finish.
In completing this project, OFS professionals used a lacquer brass coating product that is designed not to tarnish or hold fingerprints – two advantages for a heavily used space.
This extremely low odor metal coating was applied in a way as to not disrupt tenants. By changing the brass finish, the Goodwin Square (Class A) Building will also benefit from lower maintenance costs in the future – as a satin finish requires less upkeep than a mirrored finish.
