Convenience
Our stains and finishes are now completely waterborne, keeping unfriendly odors to a the bare minimum. If machine sanding is required, the majority of sanding will be completed with dust-free Festool vacuum machines equipped with HEPA filtration systems.
OFS Corporation also offers after-hours scheduling to ensure your facility remains open during normal operating hours for the duration of the project.

The Process
Step 1 (Consultation)
OFS will conduct a consultation to discuss expectations and assess the current conditions of the finish. These consultations are free of charge and usually last around 30 – 60 minutes depending on the size of the project. Once OFS assesses the condition of the finishes and expectations are determined, we will typically recommend one of the three following options:
Polish & Touch-up
This process is often used when the state of the current finish is in good condition. If damages are light, OFS technicians can touch-up blemishes and polish the existing finish, resulting in a “like new” appearance.
Refurbishing
The refurbishing process is most often used when the current state of the finish and substrate are in fair condition. This process includes scuff-sanding all surfaces, epoxy filling deep gouges and touch-up of all blemishes. Once the first steps are complete, we then reapply stain (if needed) and apply a new coat of waterborne urethane finish to the sheen of your desire. This budget-friendly process consistently yields outstanding, eye-popping results while minimizing disruptions to your facility.
Refinishing
The refinishing process consists of removing all existing stains & finishes by machine sanding all wood surfaces backdown to the raw wood. This process is usually reserved for when existing finishes are deemed to be unsalvageable or if a color change is desired. A minimum of three coats of durable commercial-grade urethane will be applied to keep the wood surfaces looking beautiful for years to come. In most cases, refinishing can be performed in place. However, OFS also has the capability and capacity to remove items from your facility to be refinished in our shop located in South Windsor, CT.
Step 2 (Proposal)
After the proper course of action is determined, a detailed proposal will be submitted for your review, outlining the selected process.
Step 3 (Mock-up)
If requested or deemed necessary, OFS would be more than happy to schedule and complete a mock-up to show you what you can expect the finished product to look like
Step 4 (Scheduling)
I Should you decide to move forward with the project, OFS will work with you to schedule your project as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Step 5 (Project Completion)
A representative from OFS will be in contact with you for the entire duration of the project, overseeing the project and ensuring that everything goes according to plan. Once the project is completed, the representative will be in touch with you to ensure you are completely satisfied.
Decorative Metal Restoration
In conjunction with wood restoration, OFS also employs skilled technicians who can transform worn out metal surfaces back to their original form.
Items such as tabernacles, crosses, pascal candles, water fonts, etc. can be polished back to a “like new” finish. These metal surfaces are often made of brass, copper, stainless steel, nickel silver and chrome, and can be restored to their original finishes.
In most cases, metal surfaces such as brass and copper will have a protective clear finish to protect against tarnishing. These coatings can be removed and reapplied, ensuring the longevity of the finish for years to come.
